Genoa’s head coach Davide Ballardini spoke after Sunday’s 2-1 victory away at Frosinone, which came courtesy of Krzysztof Piątek’s brace.
“Piatek? It’s still early but the big squads will be awaiting him. He still has a lot of work to do, but the quality is there. We’re certain he’ll do well, but it it’s still very early in the campaign.”
“He still has a lot to do from now until the end of the season. If you go two games without scoring you go from being a phenomenon to nothing.”
Considering Genoa sold a 16-year-old for €25 million (Pietro Pellegri to Monaco) it’s safe to say they have another big selling point with the Pole.
Piatek now has 12 goals in eight official matches this season with Genoa. The 23-year-old arrived from Cracovia for only €4.5 million this summer.
