Speaking to the media, via ANSA, following his recognition by the city of Potenza with the Alfredo Mancinelli Award at a recent event, current Albanian National Team manager Gianni De Biasi gave high praise to the Azzurri and to Giampiero Ventura:
This summer, I was very close to the Italy bench and for an Italian to manage the National Team, it is an extraordinary thing. Today, Italy is in good hands and Ventura is certainly doing well. Italy has given its first signals and they are on the right track.
The former Potenza tactician also gave his view on the next World Cup Qualifier against his home nation, Italy, in March of next year:
It will be a particular match because, as an Italian, playing against his own nation, it is a match that holds important significant because qualification for the World Cup is on the line. We will search to do our best. Clearly it will be a game like any other but with special implications.
