According to Tuttomercatoweb.com, Genoa are likely to make a further move to get to Giuseppe Rossi today.
They report that it is likely that Genoa will look to start any negotiations with Fiorentina today, although any decision on allowing Pepito to leave will reportedly be solely down to Fiorentina owner, Andrea Della Valle, who is currently away from Florence on business.
Delle Valle is expected to return and meet the team on Saturday, before they depart for Milan for their fixture with the Rossoneri on Sunday evening. At the same time, he is expected to sit down with Viola coach, Paulo Sousa, and discuss Rossi’s position, with some in the Fiorentina camp pointing to the fact that allowing Rossi to leave might be folly, given that he was one of the few bright sparks for La Viola during their 3-1 home defeat against Lazio at the weekend when coming on as a substitute.
Rossi has had limited game time this season at Fiorentina due to the excellent form of Nikola Kalinic and Josep Ilicic, and it is looking increasingly likely that he will leave La Viola in this transfer window. The forward has also attracted interest from Sampdoria, Bologna and Villareal, but Fiorentina remain reluctant to allow Rossi to leave permanently in case he rediscovers the form that saw La Viola sign him in the first place.
