Giuseppe Rossi, the New Jersey born Italian International, has spoken to interviewers in the wake of his first goal with the Azzurri in years.
After 899 long, hard days of waiting, Rossi finally got a second chance. A smile enlightened his face after his recovery from a couple of major injuries whilst his time at Villareal in Spain. Fiorentina has also skyrocketed to the upper part of the table, and has succeeded even more than last year. He now has 13 goals on the season.
Rossi stated “I always knew i’d be able to recover from the injury, I never had any doubts because I worked hard with endless determination to get to this point.”
Pepito then thanked God and his teammates, stating that they gave him even more drive to return successfully.
The Viola forward received a standing ovation when he was replaced in the 53rd minute.
He also praised the performance of Mario Balotelli, his striking partner, especially his assist which set up Rossi for the goal.
Mario and Rossi can be a lethal combination up front for this upcoming World Cup, but Prandelli must find a way to increase cohesiveness between them even more.
