Napoli and Lazio’s clash ended in a 1-1 tie at the Stadio San Paolo Saturday night.
After the match, Napoli’s captain Marek Hamsik spoke to Rai Sport.
“We played a great game, creating a lot [of chances]. We suffered from their wing players, but we were the team that created more; it’s a shame we conceded the goal after just one minute of being in the lead. In the last few matches, the results don’t give us justice, but our play is there and the team as well, so by continuing like this the results will come.”
Rai asked Hamsik if their is a difficulty in scoring for the team and the captain responded:
“In the last couple of games we have always scored, it’s not a problem. It’s enough to win 1-0, there’s no need to talk about Milik or Gabbiadini. We just need to be more concrete in front of the goal.”
Hamsik answered a question about the partenopei being tired for the Champions League:
“The games this week were tough. Juve and Besiktas take away from your mental and physical strength. It’s normal to be tired, but even so we tried until the end, but unfortunately we were not able to [win].”
The Slovakian also answered Rai‘s question about the gap between Napoli and Juventus:
“With winning streaks we can shorten it, starting to win consecutive matches will get us back in the running.”
Napoli will take on Udinese in the Serie A and Dynamo Kyiv in the Champions League after the upcoming international break to look to get back on track.
