Atalanta stomped lowly Hellas Verona away at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi 5-0 on Sunday afternoon.
Etrit Berisha (6): Kept his goal clean and earned a cleansheet. Never looked under threat.
Rafael Toloi (6.5): The Brazilian muscled off the ball any Verona attacker who came near him. Never looked under duress and put in a good shift.
Jose Palomino (6.5): Very precise and accurate when it came to doing his defensive and passing duties. Verona never really threatened so it is difficult to put a true rating on them.
Andrea Masiello (6): The Italian did more going forward than he did in defense. Not surprising considering what little the other defenders had to do today.
Timothy Castange (6.5): The Belgian nearly scored a screamer but Verona’s Nicolas said no. He was a monster in the first half going forward which Verona has no answers to.
Bryan Cristante (7): Cristante opened the deluge early in the first half. He demonstrated all of his attacking qualities today and proved that he is something special in the making. Perhaps a new Azzurri mainstay?
Remo Freuler (6): Not as involved as Cristante was but he didn’t have to be. Stayed back in a more defensive role all match long while his teammates pounded at Verona’s feeble backline.
Leonardo Spinazzola (6.5): For his adversaries, he was difficult to contain because of his speed and quality going forward. Spent most of the day attacking.
Josip Illicic (8.5) A massive performance from the Slovenian who could have scored 4-5 goals in total. He will have to settle for a hattrick but was clearly on a different playing level today.
Alejandro Gomez (7): Another attacker who could’ve scored more than he did. Unstoppable.
Andrea Petagna (7): Petagna leaves Verona certainly disappointed that he didn’t get on the scoresheet himself but he did earn a handful of assists today. He did the dirty work with pride.
Marten De Roon (N/A): Late substitution.
Nicolas Haas (N/A): Late substitution.
Robin Gosens (N/A): Late substitution.
