Over the last few days reports emerged that Inter were interested in acquiring Atalanta midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura. However, yesterday, Hellas Verona began negotiations for the 25 year old with Atalanta and have surpassed Inter.
Before the window closes, Inter are interested in acquiring one more midfielder. Prior to signing a midfielder the Nerazzuri would like to sell Guarin in order to raise funds. Their inability to sell the Colombian has slowed down their pursuit of Bonaventura and Hellas Verona have now entered the race for the midfielder’s signature. After targeting Metalist Kharkiv’s Alejandro Gomez and missing out on the winger, I Gialloblu have shifted their attention to Bonaventura. Mandorlini’s men view the midfielder as a replacement of sorts for Juan Iturbe even though the two players are very different.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Hellas Verona began negotiations for Bonaventura yesterday. In exchange for their midfielder, Atalanta wanted Hellas Verona’s Bosko Jankovic. Hellas Verona rejected this proposal and will likely continue negotiations shortly but they will have to keep an eye out for Inter who have still not given up on signing the 25 year old.
Bonaventura made 31 appearances for Atalanta last season scoring 5 goals and getting 3 assists.
