After losing Juan Iturbe to AS Roma this summer, Hellas Verona are reportedly looking for a replacement.
Despite adding Nene from Cagliari on a free transfer, the Gialloblu lost two of their prolific players in Romulo and Iturbe in this transfer window. The side from Verona were reportedly in the market looking to add players in order to bolster their attack with their current target looking to leave Ukraine after being unhappy with the current situation there.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Hellas Verona have been busy in the transfer market searching for Iturbe’s replacement. During the process, they have reportedly identified Alejandro Gomez from Metalist Kharkiv as their number one target to replace their former 21-year-old Argentine.
The Ukrainian club are reportedly unwilling to part ways with the 26-year-old Argentine winger on a loan deal and would rather prefer to sell him outright. During the coming days, a meeting is reportedly set between the Gialloblu and the Kharkiv-based side, where the Italian side will reportedly attempt to convince the Ukrainian side to let him leave on loan.
Gomez, who spent the last season in Serie A on loan with Catania, made thirty five appearances for them scoring 8 goals and registering 2 assists in Italy’s top flight division.
