After a rough start to the new season, Hellas Verona have taken to the transfer market to rectify their situation and have signed Urby Emanuelson.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Emanuelson will sign with Hellas Verona tomorrow and undergo his medicals. Both parties have come to an agreement over the versatile player’s salary and he will join them shortly.
After moving to Atalanta, the 28-year-old featured scarcely and found himself on the outskirts of the first team. In fact, the former Milan man is yet to make an appearance in the new season. That said, he joins a Hellas Verona side who are winless through the first 17 games of the season and are in dire need of some inspiration. Whether Emanuelson can provide that necessary spark remains to be seen but it’s a good start from Luigi Del Neri’s side.
At Hellas Verona, he will have to beat out Samuel Souprayen for the left-back spot. The Frenchman has been in good form despite his team’s struggles. As a result, it is possible that Emanuelson will be deployed as a left midfielder in Del Neri’s preferred 4-4-2 formation.
Last season he made nine appearances and registered two assists in the process.
