Leonardo Bonucci’s agent Davide Torchia spoke to Italian Football Daily on his client’s objectives for the end of the season, for the summer World Cup and for the upcoming season. Also, I had the opportunity to also ask about Mr. Torchia’s other clients, Juventus co-owned Daniele Rugani who is currently playing for Empoli as well as another Juve co-owned Cristian Pasquato on loan with Padova in Serie B.
What are Leonardo Bonucci’s goals heading into the summer? If he has a good World Cup, could he attract interest from around Europe? “Leonardo Bonucci’s goals now are to focus on the Campionato, on the Europa League and the chance to play a great World Cup, there are always European clubs attentive to his performances at the international level. Bonucci is a well known and appreciated footballer, therefore everything goes accordingly.”
Would Bonucci consider a move away from Juventus if an offer arrived?
Leonardo is very attached to Juventus and to all his supporters who show him great affection. So unless special conditions arise, his intention is to stay at Juventus as long as possible and to reach new heights together.
Who has helped Leonardo grow during his 3 years at Juventus?
To make a list is very difficult. But the family bond, competence and affection of those who work near him, the club’s organization and last but not least, to come across a coach like Antonio Conte that highlighted all his strengths and is doing a lot of work to correct the defects.
In addition to representing Bonucci, Mr. Torchia is the agent of Italian talents Cristian Pasquato as well as Daniele Rugani, the latter plays for Empoli and has had a sensational season in Serie B. Both players are co-owned by Juventus as well.
Could Cristian Pasquato make a return to Serie A next year?
Pasquato has all the qualities to be able to play in Serie A, given that the past few seasons has also scored a few goals in the top flight, but it would take a club that starts to believe and to give confidence to Italian quality players, because they tend to give many more chances to players coming from foreign countries even if they’re young. We are waiting for this trend to reverse which would help all the “Pasquato’s of Italy” to demonstrate their qualities which in the long run will help out our national team.
I remember the goal against Club de America a few years ago for Pasquato, which was quite phenomenal, is there a chance that another club might realize his potential and sign him in the summer?
“As I said before, sadly in Italy, especially in attacking roles, the seats are really limited. So as long as it stays this way, the chances for our young Italians will be very small”
Will Daniele Rugani be playing in Serie A next season given his sensational season he’s had at Empoli?
“I am strongly convinced that Rugani will have numerous requests this summer from teams in the Italian Serie A and many other foreign clubs. They will evaluate him in agreement with Juventus, which holds a co-ownership of the player, they will assess the league that Empoli (the club where Daniele is loaned to now) plays in and who will have a technical project to further grow Rugani”
