Italian agent Giovanni Bia, who boasts clients such as Federico Macheda, Luca Cigarini and others, granted us an interview regarding the status of many of his clients. Also, he spoke briefly about two of Roma’s brightest youngsters as well as shedding some light on Marco Davide Faraoni’s future.
Are there any talks with Federico Macheda returning to Italy and if so, which clubs are interested? “Today, Macheda is on loan at Birmingham City, in June the contract will expire and we are looking around. The boy would prefer to stay in the UK, but we’re not excluding a return to Italy. A 23 year old on a free transfer is tempting to many clubs”.
What is the situation with Luca Cigarini and Napoli-Atalanta? Will Atalanta fully buy him out? Or will he remain co-owned between the two sides? “The two clubs will talk in the next few months but the co-ownership is unlikely to be renewed. One of the two clubs will acquire all of the his rights. Luca is doing very well at Atalanta”
Is there a chance that Luca Cigarini could potentially move elsewhere in the summer, if so, where? “Right now it’s too early to talk about it. We’ll see what the next developments are between now and June, but as I mentioned Atalanta is doing very well as a team and Luca is very happy”
Is Luca Cigarini interested in making a return with the Azzurri? Have you spoken with Prandelli about his return? “Anybody would be proud to wear the national team’s shirt. Italy enjoys great players in the midfield”
Can you give us an update on Marco Davide Faraoni? Is he happy at Watford or could a return to Italy be on the cards? “We will meet after Easter with Udinese, who owns the player, to decide Davide’s future. But in case of interest of a club from the Premier League, it is not inconceivable that he stays in the UK”
What does Daniele Dessena’s future look like? Is he happy and wanting to stay in Cagliari or could he be playing elsewhere next season? “Daniele is very happy at Cagliari and has recently renewed his contract, but in any case we will see what the intentions are of the club. Also on the basis of any offers that come to Cagliari [for Dessena]”.
Will Federico Ricci or Matteo Ricci be heading out on loan or co-ownership next season from Roma? “We’ll have to meet shortly with Roma, the two guys, born in 1994, are praised by the club and have attracted interest from several teams. We’ll see how the situation develops.
