Ignazio Abate close to renewal at AC Milan

Serie A’s leading man in assists, Ignazio Abate, is closing in on a renewal at the San Siro, a final contract that would allow him to finish his career at Milan, via Tuttsport.

Abate has had an impressive start to this Serie A campaign, assisting 4 goals in 6 games and topping the assist charts, ahead of the likes of Lazio’s Antonio Candreva and Roma’s Miralem Pjanic. The Milan right back’s current contract takes him to 2015 and Milan will want to wrap up the contract before January, as clubs such as Juventus, PSG and Liverpool are all looking to sign Abate on a free transfer in 2015.

Abate’s proposed contract renewal, will take him to 2018, meaning the Italian international will have spent 15 years at Milan, dating back to 2003 and will likely have made over 175 appearances for the Rossoneri.
