Insigne: “We Beat The Champions Of Italy”

Napoli handed Juventus only their second loss this season in a thrilling 2-0 victory in Naples yesterday. The home side were the aggressors early on, finally breaking through in the 37th minute behind  a controversial goal by José Callejón. Napoli eventually put the game away when Marek Hamsik replacement Dries Mertens scored shortly after coming into the game. Following the match Sky Sport caught up with Lorenzo Insigne to get his thoughts on the game. “I want to salute both curve, the fans gave us a huge help. We repaid their faith in us by beating the champions of Italy. Winning was important, it provides us securely in 3rd place but we let go of 2nd place. We have to always play like this, we will take away great satisfaction [with this win]. Was this my best performance of the season? I played well thanks to my teammates, Benitez asked to help out the defense and I am always at the team’s disposal. I lost some awareness near the goal, but it’s important to win. The World Cup? I am hopeful, I am giving my all for Napoli. I am happy and hope to be rewarded by Prandelli at the end of the season.”
