Napoli failed to take all three points at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza and officially surrendered first place to Juventus in the Serie A table.
Pepe Reina (6): The Spaniard wasn’t too involved in today’s match. He was beaten however once but saved by the post. A non-factor.
Elseid Hysaj (6.5): Won many of the duels with Perisic and had a 90% pass completion rating. A strong performance in the defensive sector from the Albanian.
Kalidou Koulibaly (7): A strong performance from the Senegal international. Was a brick wall especially in the late going when Napoli were more stretched. He also completed 95% of his passes. A real asset and top defender.
Raul Albiol (6): He lost Skriniar on the set piece which hit the post and could’ve cost his side dearly. Other than that he was more subdued than Koulibaly as Inter more heavily attacked the other flank.
Mario Rui (6): Napoli gave him over 100 touches and the Portuguese did little of note going forward. He’s hard to rate because while he didn’t create much he didn’t concede anything either. Just not precise.
Allan (5): The Brazilian was full of grinta but not much else. He was grinded down by Inter’s midfield as the game went on. Replaced by Rog late on in the second half.
Jorginho (6): A tough first half for the Italy man as he was beaten all over the field. He grew into the game and had a very strong second half when he found more space. Never conceded anything at all.
Marek Hamsik (6): Another player who is difficult to judge because he played a different role than usual. He was more focused on covering space rather than exploiting it. Strange tactics overall.
Jose Callejon (5.5): Had some really poor touches and overall a lackluster game. The Spaniard would have hoped for me as he is trying to force his way into Spain’s World Cup squad. Didn’t do himself any favors today.
Dries Mertens (6): Never really threatened Handanovic’s goal and wasn’t his usual self. Skriniar and Miranda locked him down pretty well although he did almost earn a great assist on Insigne’s behalf.
Lorenzo Insigne (5): His incredible miss could cost his side dearly as they have now officially surrendered the top spot to Juventus. Tonight is a night he will not look back on with fondness. The quality is there, the consistency is not.
Marko Rog (6): Late introduction. No time to make an impact.
Piotr Zielinski (6): Came on for Hamsik and attacked more aggressively. Not enough time for him to make a major impact.
Arkadiusz Milik (N/A): Late cameo.
