Bayern Munich and Inter Milan both show interest in Paris Saint-Germain’s Marco Verratti.
Inter has shown interest in Verratti as they work on making the team more Italian based, according to Gianluca Di Marzio. However, Carlo Ancelotti’s Bayern Munich has also put the Italian midfielder in its sights. Ancelotti previously coached Verratti from 2011-2013 when he managed PSG.
Di Marzio said that Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio discussed a move with Verratti’s agent. The player’s agent admitted that 24 year-old expressed his liking for Inter. However, Verratti said he would like to play in the UEFA Champions League. If the nerazzurri are able to get Champions League football, the team would have a higher chance of signing Verratti.

There is a duel between club sponsors and not just the teams. Adidas sponsors Bayern Munich, while Nike sponsors Inter. Therefore, Adidas would like to see a Verratti move to Bayern, just as much as the club wants the player. Adidas would be taking a major star away from Nike’s brand.
The Italian midfielder has shown his talent time and time again. Verratti is not known for scoring goals, but his distribution of the ball. He controls the midfield and sets up his teammates. Verratti has scored two goals and recorded one assist thus far in Ligue 1 this season.
