Inter 2-0 Benevento: The Nerazzurri Player Ratings

The Nerazzurri battled to a 2-0 victory over lowly Benevento following a first half to forget for Spalletti’s men.

Here are the player ratings.

Samir Handanovic (6.5):  A cleansheet is a cleansheet, although the Slovenian was put under heavy pressure at times. Coda in particular stung his gloves on more than one occasion.

Danilo D’Ambrosio (6): Played a decent game all around, more so in the first half. Still problems going forward once he gets past the halfway line. Held his own on a few 2v1’s throughout the game as the Streghi pushed forward.

Andrea Ranocchia (7.5): A strong showing from the Nerazzurri captain which consisted of a goal scored and a lot of fight in the back. Benevento went right after Inter’s defense, but the Frogman never cracked.

Milan Skriniar (7): There’s a bit of irony with the fact that the most consistent player on Inter’s team is named…Milan. He opened the scoring with an excellent header and made up for his earlier mistakes. Strong player.

Joao Cancelo (6.5): He didn’t shine too much in the first half, but in reality, nobody did for Inter. He earned an assist with an excellent ball to Ranocchia.

Rafinha (5): Really struggled to get into the game today and he never looked comfortable in his position. The Nerazzurri played a 3 man central midfield trio and none of them looked at the top of their game.

Roberto Gagliardini (4.5): Slow, lethargic, uninspiring. Should have been sent off for his horrific tackle on Benevento’s Sandro.

Matias Vecino (5): From the kickoff he misplaced the past. Impressively, he caused the Nerazzurri faithful to jeer and whistle in just three seconds. He did recover himself slightly with a few strong through-balls. Midfield just didn’t work today.

Ivan Perisic (5): Forgot he was on the field for most of the game, but did play the decisive ball to Skriniar for the opener. It wasn’t a good game, but maybe a step in the right direction for the Croat.

Eder (5.5): Saw little of the ball today and was a victim of Inter’s broken play.

Antonio Candreva (6): A bright spot in Inter’s lackluster setup. Unlocked Benevento’s backline and wreaked havoc from the right side. The Nerazzurri need more of this Candreva.

Yann Karamoh (6.5): Solid cameo for the young Frenchman. He came on with the right attitude and caused problems for his 25+ minutes on the field.

Marcelo Brozovic (N/A): On for less than 10 minutes and had nothing really to do.
