Inter’s Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic was officially presented today at Centro Sportivo Angelo Moratti.
After completing his move to Inter earlier this week and training with his new team-mates, Brozovic had this to say at his unveiling, courtesy of Inter’s official website:
“It’s a dream come true for me to be here. I’ve always wanted to play for club like Inter with such a great history. It’s a special feeling to be able to put on the Nerazzurri shirt. I’m delighted.”
“I’ve never met such passionate fans before. I hope to repay the club for their investment with my performances on the pitch.”
The 22-year-old went on to reveal the reasons behind his decision to choose Inter over other potential suitors.
“Inter were the club I wanted. There are lots of players here that I know already. Premier League interest? I preferred to come to Italy because the game is very fast and tactical.”
On his personal aims:
“I’m very young and I want to keep improving as a player here. I hope to develop into a complete footballer in a few years’ time. Kovacic? He said he’ll help me with anything I need.”
There were also some questions about his choice of shirt number and his attributes.
“I went for No.77 because 11 was already taken and it’s similar. I’m a central midfielder who can play in the holding role as well – it depends on the formation.”
“My idol? I really like Frank Lampard and I hope to become like him.”
On his level of fitness: “I’ve been training for three weeks and I’m ready for my debut.”
Would not playing in the Europa League be a problem? “No, I’ll put everything I’ve got into performing well in the league.”
