Inter’s Danilo D’Ambrosio spoke post match after their loss to Southampton in the Europa League

Inter lost 2-1 to Southampton in a thrilling match which even saw Dusan Tadic miss a penalty.

Talking post match to Inter Channel and quoted by FcInterNews Danilo D’Ambrosio had the following comments:

“I always try to fight hard for the shirt, tonight we started well, getting the early goal. It is not by chance that we lost. In the second half we lowered our intensity too much and they equalized.

When a team comes off of several negative results, they usually enter the pitch with a desire to win. Southampton played very well and when we conceded the first goal we did not have the mental strength to withstand their ongoing pressure. It’s normal that they were better off, as they were physically better  and were more confident.

I think it’s more a mental issue for Inter. We wanted to win it, but Southampton had more quality than us.

There is a desire to get back up and win again, there’s a lot of work for us to do. “
