Inter are looking to finalise the loan deal for Rafinha, however there is still a disagreement on the figure for the option to buy at the end of the loan.
After signing Lisandro Lopes on loan from Benfica yesterday, Inter are continuing to sign reinforcements during this already busy transfer window to ensure that they reach their target of achieving a top four finish, granting them Champions League football for next season. Inter’s latest target has been Rafinha of Barcelona.
Rafinha, brother of Thiago Alcantara, has been the subject of a number of meetings between representatives of Inter and Barcelona with the latest meeting happening earlier today, however in the next few hours it is expected that Rafinha’s agent and father Mazinho will meet with the representatives of both clubs to reiterate Rafinha’s will to join Inter.
The hope is that in the next few days Inter and Barcelona finalise a deal for Rafinha, however the blaugrana are still not convinced by Inter’s offer and are trying to avoid further setbacks; the agreement of a free loan has been agreed, but the €25 million proposed by Inter for the option to buy is not enough as Barcelona will ask for a higher fee. Negotiations are going to continue for the next few days and Inter Sporting Director, Piero Ausilio, is confident an agreement can be reached between the two clubs.
Inter manager Luciano Spalletti has made it clear that Inter need defensive reinforcements and Rafinha’s signing would mark a smart transfer window for the nerazzurri and increase the likelihood of them finishing in the Champions League places.
