The behavior of Icardi has been a hot topic at La Pinetina recently. Mazzarri and his teammates have invited him a couple of time to follow the example of Zanetti, Cambiasso, Samuel and Milito, who have always been true professionals.
Today he has been interviewed by Sky Sport 24 after the training session: “I dream of a derby like last year at Genoa, that was decisive for my career. I scored on my debut as a starter and we defeated Genoa. My goal is to work day after day and to take stock of everything and the end of the season. What we’ll obtain is what we’ll deserve”.
“I had a good training camp, at Sampdoria I didn’t work as much as I did here. I put up more muscle. Then I had this problem in the groin, maybe I had it also last year but it wasn’t as painful as today. I’ve been out, I didn’t do all the training but I’ve always committed at my very best”.
“The goal against Juventus was nice, then I scored against Cagliari; I didn’t play much since then, I suffered seeing the others playing. But now I removed this hernia and I’m focusing on founding the rhythm and returning on the pitch and playing as I can do, working every day”.
“If I have to be subbed in, I have to give 150% because I must help my teammates that are focused on the game, I have to be on their level. When I enter the game I try to be dangerous with every ball”.
“Gabriel Batistuta is my idol since I was 4-5, but I also like Hernan Crespo that scored a lot. I’ve to do my job, everybody knows what Milito did at Inter, he’s an idol. I’m still far away, I don’t think I am anybody’s heir”.
“If Mazzarri says I must learn from the experienced Argentinians, he’s right, working with them is really a pleasure. Today my life is a bit also on the social networks, but I don’t write anything in particular, only greeting and pics. I don’t want to talk about my relationship with Wanda Nara, talk only about what I do on the pitch. I think day by bay, I live in the present”.
