The Inter defender dropped a bombshell on his availability the next Italy coach.
Speaking to Brazilian news site Globoesporte, Juan Jesus spoke on his dilemma with choosing his national team.
The 24 year old is keeping his international options open, he told reporters. “I train with Inter, always looking to get better. If a [Brazil] call were to come, obviously I’d be happy. But I also have the opportunity to become an Italian citizen and to play for Italy. Seeing how I haven’t played in official games with Brazil, I still have this opportunity. But it’s a thing for the future. I’m Brazilian, I need to think about myself and not be a hypocrite. I must take the opportunities given to me in life. Naturally my preference is for Brazil, but I have a lot of friends in Italy. I identify very well with Italy. My Italian accent? I speak a lot of Italian, in training, and with the people in the streets. I speak Portuguese only with my wife and kids, Miranda, Alex Telles and Felipe Mello and of course I listen to the music and watch TV.”
