Inter striker Mauro Icardi, still mired in controversy over his confrontation with the nerazzurri fans, scored twice yesterday but did not celebrate his goals in protest.
Inter beat Palermo 3-0 yesterday at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza with a brace from Icardi. It was just a week ago that the Argentinian was mired in controversy over a confrontation with the fans in a loss to Sassuolo, where he threw his jersey to the fans and they threw it back at him.
According to Corriere Dello Sport, Roberto Mancini was not happy about this situation and scolded his striker. “Let’s hope this situation is over with. After scoring a goal he should celebrate it – always.”
Some peace may have been restored with the ultras, as apparently Icardi met with some of them in the garage of the stadium to clear the air. Inter fans will hope that going forward Icardi will celebrate all his goals.
