Following Inter’s victory against Genoa, veteran midfielder Felipe Melo spoke to Premium Sport where he expressed his thoughts on the game as well as his relationship with former coach Frank De Boer.
“It is a very important victory because just like the fans, we too are angry at what has been done up until now. We have much more to do.
In Europa league we already showed professionalism and today, one can see that we played with heart. Victory is the right path. Today we didn’t play a good game from a tactical point of view, but we worked and ran a lot, resulting in what Inter always has to do: win.
Being out with De Boer? It was the coach’s choice, but I respect him a lot. I also grew a lot with him because for the first time I didn’t even get called up for the bench. It was difficult, things were said about me messing around in the locker room, but I always do the most I can. I am not 22, I am 33 and can be of help with my experience.”
