We take a lot at the other stars lighting up Ligue 1  as game week 25 also concluded in France with some decent results for our Italians.

Additionally we also look at two Italian’s featuring heavily in La Liga

Rennes vs Nice

Balotelli’s Nice recorded a come from behind victory over Rennes as they look to keep pace with Monaco and PSG. Unfortunately for us Balotelli was no were to be found. As seems to be the norm something has gone awry with the talented but troubled star and it was only a matter of when not if.

Reports have surfaced that Nice are frustrated with the forward and was dropped from the team for this game. Reports state it was due to sickness however it seems the club is frustrated with his attitude and lack of desire to defend.

Regardless his team continue to look to challenge for the title but one feels they will need Balotelli’s uncapped brilliance if they are to make that last.

Bordeaux vs PSG

PSG continue their fine form recently as they recorded an important 0-3 victory over Bordeaux as they hunt Monaco for top spot. Two Italians featured in their line up, as both Marco Verratti and Thiago Motta both played their roles to ensure their win. Verratti played 60 minutes before being subbed off and played his role in the midfield with his usual composure.

Motta was yellow carded in the 21st minute, but proved to be the perfect foil for his defense as well as playing a key role in cleaning up the midfield when needed. Former Napoli striker Cavani hit the all important brace for the win.
