Caretaker Italy Manager Luigi Di Biagio took some positives from Italy’s 2-0 friendly defeat to Argentina.
The Azzurri were defeated 2-0 at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium thanks to goals from Ever Banega and Manuel Lanzini.
Di Biagio discussed the performance of the Nazionale with Rai Sport after the game.
“We suffered their passing a little, we lost our shape. We tried to go and get them, but not enough”.
“It was a good first half, we could’ve done more, but let’s not forget we were facing the World Cup semi-finalists and this was a valuable match to gain experience.
“We made too many errors, especially in the first half, but we are trying and there is work to be done, which we already knew and isn’t exactly a new development.
“This team includes many who were on their debuts, others in their third or fourth caps. It’s the start of a new era”.
