Juventus 2-0 Udinese: The Juve Player Ratings

The Turin side came away with all three points at the Allianz Stadium, momentarily passing Napoli for first in the Serie A table.

Wojciech Szczesny (6):  Was only called into action on an Adnan freekick and punched it away. Either than that, he could have pulled out the lawn chair and enjoyed a cold one on a Sunday afternoon.

Mattia De Sciglio (6.5): A strong return for the Italy man and kept his foot on the accelerater all match long down the right flank. He needs to stay healthy as he’s always a strong performer for the Bianconeri.

Daniele Rugani (6): “Elegant” with the ball at his feet, was always precise with his movements and passing. Covered Benatia’s absence well.

Giorgio Chiellini (6.5): King George was booked in the second minute but that didn’t stop him from continuing his battle with Maxi Lopez. Strong defensive performance and almost scored a goal too.

Kwadwo Asamoah (6.5): Just like De Sciglio, Asamoah was much more involved in the attack than defense. A good game for the Ghana international by all accounts.

Sami Khedira (6): The German looked like he was in save-energy mode all day long. Was subbed off only after an hour.

Stefano Sturaro (6.5): This is probably what Juve are looking for with Sturaro. He gave Pjanic a day off and was absolutely relentless between the boxes. Grinta is never a question with him.

Claudio Marchisio (6): Quality, but not extraordinary. Marchisio’s game may have regressed, but he still put in a strong shift for the Bianconeri.

Douglas Costa (5): Just didn’t seem up to it today for Juventus. Probably was a little bit fatigued in the legs following an immense match against Tottenham.

Paulo Dybala (8): Dybala is quickly returning to form and scored a double today off a stunning free kick and then a great tandem play with Higuain. Four goals in three games. Watch out.

Gonzalo Higauin (6.5): Drove Angella crazy all match long and was an unsolvable problem for Udinese’s backline. He missed a penalty but provided an excellent assist for Dybala.

Blaise Matuidi (6.5): Came on for Khedira and patrolled the field with a slew of interceptions.

Mario Mandzukic (6): Came on too late to make a big impact.

Rodrigo Bentancur (N/A): Late match cameo.
