Juventus have given Liverpool midfielder Emre Can a week to sign his pre-contract agreement.
A major advancement has taken place in the Can to Juventus transfer as according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Bianconeri want to hold a meeting within the next seven days to sign a pre-contract with the Liverpool star.
‘La Vecchia Signora’ have been interested in acquiring the services of Can in the summer mercato as a replacement for the likely departing Sami Khedira who is expected to move on at the end of the season.
Juventus and Can have already verbally agreed on a transfer for the summer and the German international’s agent, Reza Fazeli, has given his word to Chief Executive Officer Giuseppe Marotta that he will not meet with any other club’s to discuss a deal.
Recent reports from the British Press have suggested that a number of Premier League clubs are interested in the services of Can, although they are only allowed to approach the German in the final month of his contract, and Juventus want to have a deal secure with the Liverpool man so they can focus on other transfer targets in the summer.
In addition to wanting to secure a deal for Can as soon as possible, Juventus also want to avoid a bidding war with other Premier League clubs who can offer substantially more wages than the €5 million per season offered by the Bianconeri.
Juventus still remain the favourites to sign Emre Can ahead of the 2018-19 season, but the deal could fall through if the club and Fazeli fail to reach an agreement in the next week.
