The two Italian giants are having a Derby d’Italia off the pitch as both try to sign the Brazilian attacker.
As Shakhtar Donetsk are in Italy to face Roma on Tuesday evening, another topic of discussion has arose. The 25-year-old attacker Bernard has decided to leave Ukraine at the end of the season and reports suggest he is pushing for a move to Italy, according to Sport Mediaset.
His agent has already proposed a move to Juventus or Inter, but for now there is little movement on that front. Juve want a midfielder this summer and many names are being passes around, such as Lorenzo Pellegrini or even Jack Wilshire from Arsenal.
Bernard is a number 10, a trequartista, meaning that he could be used dynamically for either side. The problem for the Nerazzurri is his wage, which is expected to rise once he is a free-agent this summer.
Arriving from Atletico Mineiro in 2013, Bernard has made over 150 appearances for the Ukrainian side, as well as earning 15 caps with the Brazilian national team.
