Juventus central defender Leonardo Bonucci spoke following the bianconeri‘s victory against second-place Roma, in which he scored the 2-0 goal.
“My goal didn’t come off of a set play that we try in practice. I usually attack the near post on dead ball situations, this time I opted for the far post and Pirlo did well to place it there. We knew that in our home stadium we had to impose our will and win. We didn’t expose ourselves to Roma’s counter and with this win we are nearing our 32nd scudetto“, he told Sky.
Bonucci was asked if Totti and De Rossi’s words that preceded the match charged up the bianconeri, to which he responded “We left the small talk to them, we let the pitch speak”.
Bonucci has 2 goals and 3 assists in 21 appearances in all competitions for Juventus this season.
