Juventus travelled to Empoli this afternoon and prevailed comfortably by a score of 3-0 thanks to goals from Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain.
Gianluigi Buffon (6.0): Another quiet afternoon for the veteran shot-stopper. Dealt with whatever came his way efficiently.
Andrea Barzagli (6.5): Barzagli continued his phenomenal form against Empoli giving nothing away down his flank. Wall.
Leonardo Bonucci (6.0): Not the Italian international’s best game in a Juventus shirt but he still got the job done. A few imprecisions with his passes.
Giorgio Chiellini (6.5): He seems to have put his early season blues behind him as Chiellini was extremely solid at the back for Juventus in this one.
Juan Cuadrado (7.0): The Colombian got the nod ahead of Dani Alves and he made the most of his opportunity. Looked extremely dangerous throughout and made a number of good runs.
Sami Khedira (6.0): Should have gotten on the scoresheet in the first half but will be happy with his overall display against Empoli. Subbed off for Lemina, which really changed the game.
Hernanes (6.0): Another accomplished outing as the side’s regista for the former Lazio man. Hernanes will start turning doubters into believers if he can maintain these performances until Marchisio returns.
Miralem Pjanic (6.5): The former Roma man had a very good outing at the Castellani and dominated proceedings with his Pirlo-esque vision and passing.
Alex Sandro (5.5): Despite getting the assist on Dybala’s goal, the Brazilian looked out of sorts against Empoli but will be happy with his defensive work. Not the Alex Sandro Juventus fans have gotten used to this season.
Gonzalo Higuain (7.5): The Argentine showed just how deadly he is front of goal today against Empoli. Picked up two goals within minutes of each other bringing up his tally on the season to 6 in Italy.
Paulo Dybala (7.0): We did say that once the goals start coming for him, they won’t stop. Today, Dybala opened the scoring and subsequently the floodgates. Consecutive games with a goal for La Joya.
Mario Lemina (6.5): The Juventus man changed the complexion of the game when he came on and truly upped the tempo. His introduction led to Juventus scoring 3 goals in 5 minutes. Should have squared the ball across to Pjaca after his fantastic run.
Stefano Sturaro (N/A): Came on late and did nothing to deserve a grade. However, Juventus fans will be happy to see him return to the fold following a long injury layoff.
Marko Pjaca (6.5): The Croatian winger continued to display his ease in one-on-one situations and got past his man with supreme regularity. Will feel slightly unlucky not to have found the back of the net with his many attempts and good runs.
