The Juventus general director spoke on the possibility of signing the German international.
Speaking to RMC Sport, Giuseppe Marotta reaffirmed his side’s intention on signing Emre Can in the summer. The 24-year-old’s contract expires in the summer and the Bianconeri are ready to pounce.
“We have an obligation from our side to target important objectives where they present the possibility to reach them. Emre Can’s contract expires in June, for which it was assumed that a club like ours would put our eyes on him.
“We initiated contacts with his representatives but however that doesn’t mean he’s the only target.
“It won’t be easy because Liverpool will try to renew his contract, but will try with every possible effort.”
