Juventus representatives met last night with Sampdoria to discuss the availability of three top talents, including young midfield star Lucas Torreira.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Juventus and Sampdoria are looking to create a business relationship on the transfer market that would be mutually beneficial.
Last night, the two parties held a meeting for the first time since the failed Patrik Schick move in the summer, discussing the availability of the Blucerchiati’s top talent – including Lucas Torreira.
The gifted midfield technician is a wanted man all over Europe, with both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid linked with his signature in recent months. As it’s unlikely Sampdoria (currently sixth in the Serie A table) part ways with the young Uruguayan during the current window due to his importance in helping the club qualify for the Europa League, the Bianconeri could consider putting in a significant offer this summer to bring him to Turin.
Along with Torreira, Belgian midfielder Dennis Praet and Polish U-21 striker Dawid Kownacki were also discussed in the meeting, according to Premium Sport.
The source adds Kownacki is a player both Beppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici have interest in for the attack.
The former Lech Poznań standout has tallied six goals and two assists in 12 appearances across all competitions.
Sampdoria are likely to be raided of several young stars this summer, especially if they qualify for a major European tournament. Assuming both Juventus and the Genoa-based outfit play ball with one another, there is a chance manager Marco Giampaolo could replenish his side with several of Max Allegri’s top talents, including Rolando Mandragora (on loan at Crotone), striker Alberto Cerri (Perugia) and SPAL’s Federico Mattiello.
