A superb performance by the zebrette of Udine forces Juventus to their first draw of the season. As a result, Juventus was unable to express their usual dominant game play and their ratings reflect this:

(6) Gianluigi Buffon

Buffon wasn’t called to make incredible saves, intercepts only partially Zapata’s shot, which he collects from the back of the net. Served to Juventus’ build up as usual.

(6) Dani Alves

Supported Cuadrado on the right, and moved inside as he needed. His crosses were seldom met by his teammates, however. “Showed” for teammates high on the right flank and gained the free kick that allowed Juventus to draw the match.

(6) Leonardo Bonucci

A mistake that turned Juventus’ game into an upward battle is made up by his equalizer in the 15th minute of the second half. Key interception to avoid service to Jankto late in the second half (which was as good as a goal) might be worth a half mark, but a 6.5 would be too generous after getting beaten by Zapata while Udinese was down a man.

(5.5) Giorgio Chiellini

Made his physicality count as usual, but his touch fails him every time. Difficult match for both of Juve’s central defenders. Nothing transcendental from the Tuscan.

Subbed off for (5.5) Medi Benatia (from the 11th minute of the second half)

Journalists had pressed Allegri about his employment at the Dacia Arena, and they got their answer. Takes over Chiellini’s reins as Juve is attacking and doesn’t have any more of an impact than his predecessor.

(6) Alex Sandro

He may have felt a psychological counter coup of not being called up by the Brazilian national team. Some mistakes showed that he wasn’t always mentally present. Constantly under Witmer’s pressure.

(5.5) Sami Khedira

Half of the time one wonders if Khedira was on the field, but the German is always key for Juve, tactically. He opens the field often for Cuadrado in the first half, then disappears in the second.

(6) Miralem Pjanić

Gets an A for effort, but is often bottled up in the midfield thanks to an ever present Badu (and Fofana before him), who limited his ability to influence the match and his passing accuracy to 85%.

(5.5) Mario Mandžukić

Another good effort by the Croat whom however fails to get into dangerous positions, thus didn’t register a shot on goal.

(5.5) Paulo Dybala

Difficult game for the Argentine who had trouble creating danger against an attentive Udinese side. His free kick to Bonucci put Juventus level. One shot and a high passing accuracy save him from a getting a lower assessment.

Subbed off for (NA) Thomas Rincon (from the 87th minute)

(5.5) Juan Cuadrado

Another frustrating afternoon for the Colombian, who was among the bigger threats in the first half (often sought by his teammates), but ended gaining the Juve bench after a yellow card that will see him out of the upcoming match versus AC Milan. Seldom tried his specialty, namely one-on-one take-ons, but worthy of note is a one-two combo with Higuain which saw his shot closed out by Danilo.

Subbed off for (5) Marko Pjaca (from the 77th minute) one mistake after the next for the young Croat who is not the impactful player that Allegri had hoped for, today.

(5) Gonzalo Higuáin

Worked really hard to get into scoring positions but didn’t get service, nor did he have the chance to create anything for himself. His lone attempt was blocked by Samir in the first half.
