Juventus are preparing for battle tomorrow in Denmark against FC Copenhagen. Antonio Conte declared today in a press conference that his side has “learned from the Nordsjaelland game” from last year in which the Bianconeri only took a point.
This game is crucial, in terms of getting all three points. This group will be much more difficult to negotiate due to the big three teams in Group B. Galatasaray and Real Madrid will be the other heavy hitters however, the clash with the Danes could be telling.
Antonio Conte spent the summer looking for players who could bolster his squad for a shot at Champions League glory and, so far Tevez has been exactly the man. He has scored 3 goals in official matches this year, and tonight’s clash could be the one to open up his European account with his new team.
Tevez, could be Juventus’ “Mr.X”. He has adapted fantastically to Conte’s tactics and, barring a meltdown, could be the signing of the year. Whoever partners him against Copenhagen will have to work extremely hard to keep pace with the Argentinean forward. Many reports are saying that Fabio Quagliarella will be that man.
The Bianconeri midfield has been fantastic so far this campaign as Pirlo has been able to orchestrate the team as good as ever. Pogba is seemingly growing into his own legacy, as he has taken his performances to a whole new level. Juggernaut Arturo Vidal has been explosive, creating numerous chances and slotting home the goal in the Derby D’Italia. Wingers Kwadwo Asamoah and Stephan Lichtsteiner has been vital, their work rate has taken pressure off the attackers and defense alike. Juventus’ midfield should in all respect to Copenhagen, dominate.
Juventus’ injury list has slightly been reduced following the full recovery of Mirko Vucinic. Claudio Marchisio, Simone Pepe, Martin Caceras and Rubinho are still knocked out of commission. Leonardo Citti has taken the place of the backup goalkeeper. Meanwhile, Marco Motta failed to make the cut for the 21 man squad.
Here is the full squad for the clash.
1 Buffon 3 Chiellini 5 Ogbonna 6 Pogba 9 Vucinic 10 Tevez 11 De Ceglie 12 Giovinco 13 Peluso 14 Llorente 15 Barzagli 19 Bonucci 20 Padoin 21 Pirlo 22 Asamoah 23 Vidal 26 Lichtsteiner 27 Quagliarella 30 Storari 33 Isla 50 Citti
My personal prediction is IF, Juventus can avoid an early slack and take the lead. Then they can cruise to a 3-0 victory. Three away goals will be very nice for the Old Lady and, coming out of Denmark will a possible first place spot in the table will be a great boost following the difficult battle in Milano.
