The Bianconeri run riot over the Neroverdi on a chilly day in Torino.
Below are the player ratings for Juve’s 7-0 thumping over Sassuolo.
Gianluigi Buffon (7): Could’ve spent the afternoon cheering in the Curva barring one save on Politano.
Mattia De Sciglio (7.5): Played well all day, including some impressive displays against Babacar and Duncan. He’s turning a corner at Juve, more performances like this one will solidify his place in the Italy squad for the future.
Giorgio Chiellini (7.5): King George had little going on in terms of defense today, but held a very high pass completion percentage.
Daniele Rugani (6.5): Played the first half and there was little to note. Kept a cleansheet.
Alex Sandro (8): A goal and an assist for the Brazilian who was simply unmarkable when going forward. His price tag just got ticked up a few more million.
Blaise Matuidi (6): The lone dark-spot for Juventus today. Matuidi came off injured late in the second half.
Miralem Pjanic (8.5): Simply sensational today. A goal and an assist and looked like Pirlo reincarnated at times.
Sami Khedira (8): Played just the first half but managed to bag a brace. If there’s a player who needed a big performance like today, it was him.
Federico Bernardeschi (8.5): The Italy winger was unstoppable today and could’ve had a goal and more assists if the ball had just bounced differently. But he will have to be satisfied with two assists on the day.
Gonzalo Higuain (9): A second half hat-trick isn’t anything to complain about. Higuain was balling today, scoring chips and bangers.
Mario Mandzukic (7): Didn’t get on the scoresheet, but Mandzukic decided today was the day to ramp up the physicality. One of the few wingers in the world who plays tougher than a centerback.
Claudio Marchisio (8): It’s a long road back to where he was before, but Il Principino was absolutely phenomenal today. His assist on Higuain’s second was pure magic. Somewhere, Pirlo is impressed.
Stefano Sturaro (6): He’s been in a terrible run of form as of late, but today was more than useful. There’s never a lack of effort from Sturaro, but he’s got to improve his passing and touches.
Medhi Benatia (6.5): Forgot he was on the field at times simply because Sassuolo never got passed the halfway line.
