The saga between Balde Keita and Lazio reignites after the Senegalese International says no to an extension with the Biancocelesti.
According to Premium Sport, Lazio winger Keita Baldé has refused a contract renewal with the club, which would have paid him €1.5 million a season until June 2018. Keita had reportedly requested for an increase to €3 million a year, a figure which Claudio Lotito is not in line to match. The Senegal International has been skating on thin ice with Lazio ever since his summer dispute with club where reports had emerged of clashes with manager Simone Inzaghi,
Although Keita remained with Lazio following the closing of the summer transfer window, it is becoming more and more likely that his future lies away from Rome. One of his possible destinations could be Milan, as per Corriere dello Sport. The Italian news outlet have reported that the Senegalese International could join the Rossoneri on a loan deal with an obligation to buy for €20 million. With a good relationship between both Lazio and Milan, there is a high probability that Claudio Lotito could send Keita packing from the Stadio Olimpico, even though his club is in the heat of a Champions League race for next season.
Should Keita sign with Milan on loan and excel, it could open the door for them to sell M’Baye Niang from around €12 to €15 million, in the summer. If a move to Milan fails to materialize, it is guaranteed that Keita will not be short of suitors around Europe, come July 1st.
