Decorated manager Marcello Lippi discusses his admiration for the current Juventus squad after their 1-0 win over Napoli last Saturday.

In an interview with Radio Anch’io Sport on RadioUno, World Cup Winning-manager Marcello Lippi spoke about last Saturday’s match between Juventus and Napoli, along with his desire to return in coaching role:

On Juventus’ victory over Napoli:

”Sarri’s men did less than expected. Some players were too concerned with doing the right thing that they neglected the attack. It likely happened because until then, Napoli had never faced a strong team like Juventus. On the other hand, the Bianconeri reached an objective that seemed impossible, they were a determined group. The credibility that these great players have, such as Buffon, Chiellini, Barzagli, Bonucci, they capable of taking charge of the situation and are listened to. Every time, they manage to guide the ship in the right direction. ”

On Allegri:

”I see myself in him. He is aware that when you are at Juventus, you do not go anywhere else. It must take something special to leave and go elsewhere.”

On the Champions League:

There is a difference from when the draw was done, now the situation has changed. I am convinced that Bayern have changed their thoughts about Juventus compared to three months ago.”

On returning to a bench role:

”When I came back from my China, I had the feeling of wanting nothing to do with football, but then I started to watch some games. So far I have had no contact. Although, since I announced that I wanted to return to coaching, I was approached by Lazio, Milan and other teams.”
