After the 2-1 victory over Crotone, Nikola Maksimovic spoke to Radio Kiss Kiss where he spoke of his emotions after his first Serie A goal and the little crisis Napoli have been in for the past few weeks.
Maksimovic scored the winning goal in today’s match off a header, which came minutes after Gabbiadini was sent off for blatantly kicking out at a Crotone player. Here is what the Serb had to say following the victory:
“To get my first goal in Serie A after many years isn’t really a great thing but I’m really happy about the win, it was truly important for the squad.”
On Napoli’s crisis:
“Crisis finished? I wouldn’t speak about a crisis, we played well these past few games but the results never came, today we entered the game concentrated, lucid and we won. My goal was important because it arrived at the most important time, we were playing with one less man at the time it’s true, but we had many chances to score afterwards, particularly from Mertens and Callejon, and then we let in a goal which we need to cut out quickly.”
On his confidence:
“You are getting more and more confidence, correct? Our play starts from the back, us defenders need to bring the ball forward, create something while being concentrated at the same time, this is our play. It’s too early to talk about the league table, we only played 9 games in the Serie A so far, we don’t look to any other squad other than ourselves. Now we are only thinking about Empoli.”
