Matteo Darmian’s future is still in the balance as January draws near.
Despite all the links for the last 6 months, there appears to be no concrete offer that has been made by a Serie A club for Man United’s right back.
According to the Sun, his future is very unclear for the moment because he’s playing second fiddle to Antonio Valencia at right back and because not many Italian clubs want to spend the money to bring him back to Italy.
The 27-year-old defender has only made 8 appearances in all competitions this season for the Red Devils.
Jose Mourinho’s arrival has significantly stunted Darmian’s development and playing time as he was a key figure under Louis Van Gaal’s regime.
Darmian arrived from Torino in 2015 for €18 million. His hefty price tag has driven away potential suitors as United want to recoup a large portion of their investment.
