Roma defender Kostas Manolas will be out of action for up to two weeks after he fractured his nose in a 0-0 draw against Empoli on Sunday.
The Greek international has arguably been one of Serie A’s best center backs these past few seasons. After Alessandro Florenzi tore his ACL last week v Sassuolo, Roma are down yet another defender.
While the 26 year old’s injury is much less severe than Florenzi’s, it is still a tough blow for Roma as they have upcoming matches against Austria Wien in the Europa League this Thursday and take on a tough Bologna side on Sunday in Serie A action. Fortunately for Roma, Manolas will likely be available for their match against a rising Atalanta side on November 20th.
Kostas Manolas has been crucial for the Giallorossi, and links with a move to Antonio Conte’s Chelsea side have developed over the last few months. Since joining the capital club back in 2014, Manolas has made 78 appearances for the club.
