The former Italian Under 21 international arrives on a two year deal with the New Zealand based A-league club as they look to challenge for a top 6 position and finals for the upcoming A-league season.

The 28 year old defender is well traveled in Serie A  having played for Bari, Parma and Sampdoria among others and recently completed a season in Serie B with Perugia making 23 appearances. Furthermore he also represented Italy at under-17, under-19, under-20 and under-21 levels.

Marco Rossi does not come without his fair share of controversy in his playing career as he has been infamously punched twice, once by Zlatan Ibrahimovic and later by Christian Chivu. Additionally he was suspended for 20 months for his knowledge of match fixing while on loan at Bari from Parma in 2012.

He will join a growing number of Italian players who have played in the A-league with such as Benito Carbone, Alex Del Piero, Federico Piovaccari, and Iacopo La Rocca who recently won the A-League title with Adelaide United.
