Mario Balotelli’s unexplained second yellow card and suspension in Nice’s game against Lorient has been overturned.
Balotelli is once again available for Nice’s next game against Lyon on October 14.
The striker scored Nice’s winning goal against Lorient, but receiving his second yellow card of the match for what seemed making eye contact with a opposing defender Moreira.
His first card was due to removing his shirt after scoring his sensational goal.
As such Ligue 1’s Disciplinary Committee has offically removed the yellow card and thus nullify’s his one game suspension.
The media was quick to jump to Balotelli’s defense, who has returned to his mercurial best with six goals from five games.
The referee of the game Olivier Thual admitted he made a mistake issuing Balotelli his second yellow card of the game.
