Mario Barwuah Balotelli, il futuro della Nazionale

Agile, fast, and powerful… Mario Barwuah Balotelli, is the talented football player that will place Italy and Seria A on the main covers of newspapers all over the world…
With Italy’s poor performance on the last game of the Nazionale against Armenia for the qualifiers of the World Cup 2014 in Brazil, Mario came in as a substitute for Pablo Daniel Oswaldo… as soon as he stepped into that field; he demonstrated again that his potential is infinite. Although, the football media perceives him as an immature player with bad attitude, his search for a goal and his constant good performance on the field gives us an overall understanding of how much weight the number 45 jersey carries when he is playing for both Milan and la Nazionale.

Italy has been through a tough football path that has been constant during the past years; meanwhile countries like Spain and England have built leagues that are worthy to represent European football at a world class level. Remembering some players that gave much of their talent to Seria A just like they gave to their respective countries are Edgar Davids, Lilian Thuram, Gabriel Omar Batistuta, Fabio Cannavaro, Paolo Maldini, among others. What seems a bit curious is that Italy has always had football players of amazing talent in their league…it still does… to my judgement, what some of the players are lacking is called character. For instance, Marchisio, Aquilani, Robihno… even Klose are players that can give and contribute a lot more to their clubs… On the contrary, I applaud and respect the great leadership and commitment that the now captain Ricardo Montolivo has taken on with the rossoneri; with excellent defensive qualities he has completely taken over of the position of a number 5 giving balance to his team, just like we are used to see from Danielle de Rossi when he is playing with the Roma squad and with Italy.

Nevertheless, the attack… and in particular scoring, is what the fans all over the world usually talk about. Matri, Amauri, Borriello, Iaquinta, have represented Italy’s greatest club teams poorly when it comes to the offensive side of the game. After Zlatan’s recruitment with PSG and subsequently Cavani’s, Mario Balotelli has known how to take the reigns of Calcio, as of today, being one of the most productive strikers in Europe.

Super Mario is a player that reflects the greatness of an Italian national team that has won four World Cup championships and always strives to be one of the best squads in the world. Today Mario Balotelli gives fans much to talk about, young talent that without a doubt makes his case to be one of the best strikers in the world. He has a great capacity to control the ball while his back is facing the goal with a defender on him. He retains the ball, which allows the team to maintain possession, which gains time so that the midfield and the defense are able to regain their rightful positions. He is extremely fast on the wings and agile when it comes the time to make a play through the middle…. It is extraordinary the power he has when he shoots, and it is very rare when one of his shots is not aimed straight at the goal. Like few players on the field he defends the colors of his jersey and disrespects anyone who stands in his way at a professional level. Mario is without a single doubt a role model that a tifosi wants to see in a football field…

…It is true that his bad attitude has taken him to dark places in his particular sport… but curiously it has also led him to the cover of time magazine. His indiscipline is going to have to change with an influence of a commendatore as Marcelo Lippi or a great coach like Cesare Prandelli so that his character doesn’t influence the sport in a negative way. Without a doubt it will be an easy task for the masters of the game that Italy has had throughout the years.

“I am Italian, I feel Italian, i will forever play with the Italy national team” Mario Balotelli
