Giuseppe Marotta declared himself happy with Juventus’ current squad but looks to the future as he outlines his intention to strengthen the Bianconeri in the summer transfer window.
As reported yesterday, Marotta spoke of his confidence in the current Juve squad as well as the negotiations with Paulo Dybala over a renewal of his contract after having officially unveiled Tomas Rincon. Today, La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Juve’s Sporting Director had this to say;
“We are happy with every department…Compared to October we’ve bought Rincon and got Marchisio back, so two more players…We are nearing completion for Caldara, so for purchases we have already got two done. In midfield we have some interesting young Italians and we’re looking for a top player in that role who will be available for next season.”
Who the possible midfield addition in the summer will be is anyone’s guess at the moment. With long term target Axel Witsel opting for a lucrative move to play in the Chinese Super League with Tianjin Quanjian, names such as Borussia Moenchengladbach’s Idea Dahoud, Paris Saint Germain’s Blaise Matuidi and Sevilla’s Steven N’Zonzi have been mentioned by La Gazzetta as well as a possible return to Italy for play-maker Marco Veratti.
