After a rocky first half, Stefano Pioli’s Inter would steady their course and grab all three points against a lively Udinese side. Here’s how we rated Inter:

Goalkeeper:

Samir Handanovic (5): Could do nothing about Jankto’s goal. Was often used to distribute the ball from the back, which he did just fine. Wasn’t given much to do throughout.

Defenders:

Danilo D’Ambrosio (5): Lost his mark early on which Jankto would take full advantage of for the 1-0. Stepped his game up as the match progressed.

Joao Miranda (5): A quiet but sound match from the Brazilian.

Jeison Murillo (5.5): Was always there to intercept a pass and stop Udinese from finding a shot.

Christian Ansaldi (5.5): Got up the wings well and kept his area tidy at the back.

Midfielders:

Geoffrey Kondogbia (4.5): Looked very lively on the ball but his passes always seemed to stray to Udinese players. Received a yellow card in the 65th minute. He’ll do three positive things and four negative ones. Came off for Eder in the 83rd minute.

Marcelo Brozovic (4.5): Was left in the dirt as Udinese charged the pitch to score the opening goal. Looked invisible for a good portion of the match. Booked in the 85th minute and will miss Inter’s next match against Chievo.

Ever Banega (4.5): Missed a great chance to put Inter ahead in the 49th minute when the ball found him at the back post but he couldn’t find the net. A bit of an unbalanced performance overall from the Argentine. Came off in the 56th for Joao Mario.

Forwards:

Ivan Perisic MOTM (7.5): Masterfully slotted home a ball at the end of the first half to give Inter a sign of life. Was a threat at all times down the wing. In the 87th minute, the Croatian clinically headed home the winner to give himself a brace and the very well-deserved title of “Man of the Match.” Came off with a standing ovation from the traveling interesti in the 90th minute as Inter looked to waste time.

Antonio Candreva (4.5): Always seemed to run himself into a dead-end.

Mauro Icardi (5.5): Wonderfully brought a ball down on the wing and assisted Perisic who would find the net at the end of the first half. Ran and pressed high but never got much out of the match other than his assist.

Substitutes:

Joao Mario (6): Came on in the 56th for a lackluster Banega. Possessed the ball with confidence and his passes were pin-point. Hit a point-blank shot right into an Udinese player that would’ve given Inter the lead in the 82nd minute. Crossed a ball that would find the head of Ivan Perisic to give Inter the 2-1 winner late on.

Eder (N/A): Came on in the 83rd minute for Kondogbia.

Andreolli (N/A): Came on for Perisic in the 90th minute to waste time.

Coach:

Stefano Pioli (7): One of Inter’s less impressive games since the Italian took over, however, bringing on Joao Mario ultimately helped Inter control the match and win it in the end. Steadied Inter’s ship at halftime.
