Inter look for their first win in the Europa League against Premier League side Southampton.

Inter has been poor in Europa League this season. With what was supposed to be an easy group, Inter find themselves winless.

After poor performances against Beer Sheva and Sparta Praha Inter have no points and a lot of catching up to do. Inter will host Southampton Thursday, who have won 4 of their last 6 matches, including 2 ties. In the Europa league they are tied for first place at 4 points with Beer-Sheva.

Southampton

Southampton have been on fire and have not lost a game since early September, against Arsenal. Since then they have been winning and tying.

Southampton also have not let up a goal in this years Europa League campaign.

Players to watch out for:

Charlie Austin: Scored 2 goals this past weekend against Burnley. Every game that he has scored in this season has ended in a win.

Virgil Van Dijk: Leads the back line, has consistently been the top rated player in the squad which has only let up 1 goal in the last 7 games.

Inter

Inter have been in terrible form lately. The Nerazzurri haven’t won a game in almost a month and are now struggling with internal drama concerning captain, Mauro Icardi. Inter suffered a gutting loss to Cagliari this past weekend. After being up 1-0 on a Joao Mario rebound, Inter could not hold on as Cagliari scored two late goals, one being an own goal by Samir Handanovic. \

With a win against Southampton, Inter will find their way back in the running for a knockout round spot, bringing them within a point of 2nd place.

Players to watch out for:

Ever Banega: despite a bad outing against Cagliari, Banega is the focal point in Inter’s midfield and is the go to guy when in possession.

Antonio Candreva: Leads the team with 3 assists and is a constant threat on the right wing.

Samir Handanovic: His presence in goal is constantly noted. Keeping Inter in games when down and making big saves when in the lead. A leader by example and one of the worlds best keepers.
