Milan have won back to back games for the first time to season to go second in the League, as they defeated Lazio 2-0 at the San Siro thanks to goals from Bacca and Niang.
Here is how we rated the individual Milan players in their victory.
Gianluigi Donnarumma (7.5): Calm and confident perfomance in between the posts for the Rossoneri yet again for the 17 year old goalkeeper. Made some decent saves throughout the match but was never really troubled. Almost seems too easy for him at times.
Davide Calabria (7.5): A switch to right-back his natural position saw the U21 international have a excellent game in place of Abate. An great pass to Niang should have seen him end the game with an assist but his team-mate missed in front of an empty net.
Gabriel Paletta (7): After a shaky start to the game, the Italian International improved as the game went on. Produced an excellent last ditch tackle on Balde Keita who was through on goal early into the second half. A key moment in the game, which proved decisive.
Alessio Romagnoli (6.5): Not often you see Romagnoli outperformed by his centre-back partner. Week in and week out you get the same committed performance from the Italian and it was on display again.
Mattia De Sciglio (7): A very good performance from the full-back on his return to the starting line-up. A quiet first half but the introduction of Felipe Anderson in the second half was seen as a test for De Sciglio, however he kept the Brazilian quiet for large periods with some great defensive tackles.
Juraj Kucka (8) MOTM: Took him a while to get into the game after his two match suspension but once he got started he was excellent in the midfield. Set up Bacca for the opening goal of the game and could have had a goal from a free-kick which was well saved by the Lazio goalkeeper. An underrated player in this side for what he brings to the side.
Riccardo Montolivo (6.5): After a good 45 mins for the captain, the second half saw him struggle with the introduction of Balde Keita in the No10 role. Up against the Spandiard he could not cope with the pace of the number 14.
Giacomo Bonaventura (6.5): Not his influential self in the midfield trio tonight, but as always you get 100% from the player with his incredible work-rate.
Suso (6): A game where the little magician drifted in and out of the match yet again. A couple of key chances created which came to nothing. Produced an outrageous piece of skill in the first half to beat his man, a highlight of his game.
Carlos Bacca (7.5): A very good game by the Colombian on his return to the starting lineup. Opened the scoring for Milan with a cool finish. Looks to be fired up and wanting to proving a point since his exclusion from the starting line-up over the weekend.
M’Baye Niang (6.5): A average game by the Senegalese forward which somehow ended with him scoring the second from the penalty spot. Showed great pace and control up against Basta on many occassions, however his end product let him down yet again. Missed an absolute sitter in front of goal in the second half. Frustrating to watch.
Manuel Locatelli (6): Replaced Suso in the second half for a 25 minute spell. Took Montolivo’s role in front of the defence and didn’t look out of place. A decent performance from the bench.
Keisuke Honda (N/A): The player was not on the pitch to make a proper assessment.
Gustavo Gomez (N/A): The player was not on the pitch to make a proper assessment.
