AC Milan returned from international break by winning away at the Bentegodi to Chievo Verona 3-1.

Here is how we rated the individual performances of the Rossoneri on Sunday.

Gianluigi Donnarumma (7): A solid showing for the young phenom, made a few easy saves and had no chance on the brilliant free-kick conceded to Valter Birsa. Good showing from Gigio.

Ignazio Abate (6.5): A strong performance from the captain today. Used his pace effectively and was pretty composed with his passing all match.

Gabriel Paletta (7.5): Yet another great match from Paletta. A lethal force in the air, some nicely placed tackles. The steadiness continues on for the former Parma man.

Alessio Romagnoli (7.5): The 21-year old was in tune with his partner all match. Chievo didn’t have any quality scoring chances throughout the match, and Romagnoli was magnificent in ensuring that lasted throughout.

Mattia De Sciglio (7): Mattia was the better of the two fullbacks today. Very composed all match and made some very key tackles in the first half when Chievo’s pressure was causing issues for Milan. All in all a very encouraging performance by the Azzurri defender.

Juraj Kucka (8): Amazing performance from the Tank. A bullet goal in the first half with a strong showing in the centre of the pitch. He won several aerial duels and never gave the ball up too easily. Great match from Kuco.

Manuel Locatelli (7.5): In his first start of the season, the teenager was great. Very calm for how young he is, placing his passes well and also successfully executed two tackles; a game high.

Giacomo Bonaventura (8.5 MOTM): Giacomo looked like his usual self today. His great work ethic and determination on/off the ball was superb. He also assisted Niang’s goal. The Italian had a few really nice moves past defenders and was all over the pitch. A true difference maker at the Bentegodi tonight.

M’Baye Niang (8): Niang was excellent today on the left wing. His first touch was effective and he held on to the ball superbly. His brilliantly struck ball from outside the box proved to be the winner today, but the way he took on Chievo defenders was impressive. Excellent from the Frenchman.

Gianluca Lapadula (7): Lapadula was just missing a goal in the match today. His work ethic was something to note, as he did not stop running. He had a quality chance in the second half but Sorrentino unfortunately saved it. Good shift from Lapagol whose activity caused havoc throughout.

Suso (7): Suso was very good today. Held on to the ball well. He had a few quality strikes on goal but played a quality match out wide.

Jose Sosa (6.0): Came on for Lapadula, had a free-kick blocked but made some nice link-up passes.

Andrea Poli (N/A): Won a free-kick, also nutmegged a Chievo defender. Brought energy and defending to the pitch. No rating as he wasn’t on the ball enough to properly assess his performance.

Carlos Bacca (N/A): The Colombian saw about 5 minutes of action. He put the nail in the coffin by getting a lucky deflection for the goal at the end. Overall, he wasn’t on the pitch long enough, but immediately impacted the outcome.
