Federico Mattiello, a 19 year old midfielder on loan from Juventus, spoke to Premium Calcio about the 0-0 draw against AC Milan at the Bentegodi, the home stadium of the Flying Donkeys.
Mattiello spoke: “I am very lucky, I crossed my fingers, worrying that it would be a penalty, but in the end it went well for me. I want to train and exploit any opportunities that are given to me, like I did today. We could have scored today, but Milan also had a few chances that could have been goals. I think a draw is a justified result and it is a good one for us.”
Mattiello made a few crucial plays, such as one in which he made up ground after losing the ball and performed an exceptional slide tackle. The 19 year old loanee from Juventus seems to have a very bright future if he continues to play like that for Chievo, and he can become a crucial part of Juventus if he were to pan out as planned for the Bianconeri. He’s already made 2 appearances for Juventus, and could make plenty more.
