Veteran midfielder Francelino Matuzalem has traded in his Serie A stay for sunny Miami according to recent reports from Italy.

The Verona stay for midfielder Francelino Matuzalem is short-lived. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the 35-year old Brazilian is heading to the United States to join NASL newcomers Miami FC, who will kick off their inaugural season this year.

Matuzalem is parting ways with Verona after signing via a free transfer over the summer and making only seven appearances. He will become a part of Alessandro Nesta’s roster which also includes Wilson Palacios and Dario Cvitanich.

Miami FC is co-owned by former Serie A and A.C. Milan legend, Paolo Maldini and aside from their domestic league games in the NASL, they will also compete in the U.S. Open Cup.
